What the fans had to say about the #TEXASRAPFEST
October 26, 2014 will forever go down in history in Dallas, Texas. Over 10,000 fans in attendance at the Gexa Energy Pavilion anxiously waited for the #TexasRapFest2014 for weeks now and they definitely got one heck of a show. The #TexasRapFest has been the most talked about show. I call it the “Texas Showdown” from H-Town bound to the Triple D; it was definitely sunny in the South. William Green jr and Tony Draper partnered up to bring Texas Rap Artists together presenting the “Texas Rap Fest”, coordinated by BC CEO/Founder of Southern Fried Marketing and the President of Kountry Boy Records. For the first time ever the youngest artist to hit the stage, Bentley Green performed “My Melody” produced by C-Nut at the #TexasRapFest giving the fans a taste of things to come in 2015.
The battle of 43 acts had to have been the craziest concept to think of, but the #TexasRapFest was nothing short of spectacular, every single act nailed it. I was able to witness some of the greatest performances of all time and to get exclusive press from the artist themselves.
We all know when you step out in the Triple D your appearance must be red carpet ready; it’s a fashion show everywhere you go. The legendary Don Chief was dipped in Louis Vuitton from head to toe performed hits from “Eat greedy or don’t eat at all” and his NEW hit single “Goin Hard”. The fans went absolutely crazy they were running from the grass to the front of the stage not one person was in their seat for his performance, from rapping along with the Don himself and taking pics on their phones he definitely made a personal connection with his fans by performing with his hands and saluting the fallen soldiers. Big Tuck wore all black leather like never before with all black designer shades to match, Fat Bastard came drenched in all jean rustic look performing hits like “Welcome to Dallas” “ Southside the realist” and “Get money” it’s clear the fans of DSR will always remain loyal, they knew every song and represented to the fullest .Treal Lee and Prince Rick rocked the show in all white and in no time got the fans going crazy performing “Throwed off” and “Mr hit dat Hoe” their energy was amazing, the fans were crazed everyone was on their feet and rocking with the artist, they put on one heck of a show. Dorrough Music sported the latest all black diamond sneaker as he opened up his performance with I still gotta “214 #” his chains were swinging left to right, the ladies were standing on their chairs as he performed “ walk that walk” and his platinum hit single “ice cream paint job” the “#1 record in the country” -Dorrough Music proudly announced, but as soon as he announced he was shooting his video for his new hit single “Beat up the Block” ft Lil Boosie live at the #TexasRapFest the fans went insane, I don’t think the Triple D has ever been so lit up before in my life the fans were literally barking in the audience is was surreal. Survival is always the key to everything, Fat Pimp represented for our cancer survivors everywhere, sporting a solid t-shirt with the pink ribbon on the back, tie die shorts with a splash of pink and of course pink socks and shoes , two words #SWAGGEDUP. The fans lit up as he performed “Rack daddy”, “I’m getting money”, and of course “Rollin on an x”, the stage was nothing less than a live performance.
Other Dallas artist who put on one heck of a show was T-Cash and the entire Swagg House Music Movement, it has to be a great month for him and Don Chief, because they both just celebrated leading roles in “The Triple D Movie”, congratulations T-Cash and Don Chief they are definitely putting on for the city. Every D-Boys favorite rapper Lil Keke had a light full of energy , as he performed “heart of a hustler, mind of a G” had the arena and even fans in the lawn on their feet, saluting him, screaming, and yelling, it was mad crazy. He was so smooth on stage like a real live “G” as he engaged with the fans he called himself the “Free style king “he put on a heck of a performance.
Pocca Leroy can always be spotted mobbing through or in and out the city , but one thing for sure he is always networking, stay posted with the Dallas entertainment journal to see what him and “THE PEOPLES CHAMP” , Paul Wall have in the works.
From H town to the Triple D, Owner of Swisha House, Dj Michael Watts turned the tables like you have never heard before. H town opened the city up performing “Tippin” as the Texas rap legends hit the stage, Mike Jones got it banging with his verse, then as the crowd got louder and louder as Slim Thug appeared on the stage in his all red Boss baseball cap on with his Boss Life custom clothing, swaged up and then out of nowhere, Paul Wall hits the stage and shuts it down. Lil Flip, GETO Boys,Chamillionaire, and Bun B put on one heck of a show, you could hear the crowd outside in the parking lot each time a Houston artist came on stage.
Hands down this was the best 43 act #TexasRapFest concert to showcase Texas artist as a whole. Let’s keep up the support, grind, and the hunger to keep this Texas movement going.
