Born and raised in the music scene, actress Katharine Franco is an insightful and endearing host. Her weekly coverage of topics like unifying the mind, wellness, mental health, and rising stars results in a series that can feel like a free weekly therapy session. The “Mommy Minute” Q&A segment features Franco’s mother, Lucy O’Dell, a cancer survivor and advocate for the fight against lupus. O’Dell bravely shares wisdom garnered from her personal health journey and how these insights may be applied to your own life.

However, after such a hearty meal, Franco never fails to deliver on dessert. Announcing the musical guests for Bridging the Gap is WFAA’s DJ LC, Lamont Carlis. This week places a spotlight on guests Gabe Saenz, Ian Simpson, and Pennie Painter.

Sultry and sweet, Pennie Painter is a local singer and songwriter that has been recognized as one of the Top 40 musical artists in the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene. A song of self-discovery and “conquering your inhibitions,” you can expect to hear powerful vocals and beatboxing as sheperforms her new single, INHUBITION, with Pennie Painter sharing that the “U” is “representative of our tendency of focus outside of ourselves rather than within”. Accompanied by local multi-instrumentalist Ian Simpson, Pennie Painter’s genre-bending vocals will light a fire in you that will carry you into next week
