Friday night, the Dallas Stars honored our military men and women by beating the Nashville Predators 7-4. Excited fans and fast action kept the energy high throughout the game. Children of all ages were dressed in green and feeling 13! It was a blast!!!
From the Team to the Ice Girls and the Snack Servers, the Stars commitment to entertainment impressed me. We have the only team with Ice Girls who clean the ice. All of our Ice Girls can skate. I looked up requirements for the Ice Girls of other teams; and found skating is not always a requirement! The Dallas Stars Ice Girls tend the Ice, the fans, and the media. Even Hal, the snack server entertained us, as he explained the nutritional benefits of cotton candy! And the nameless hype-guy throwing T-shirts to the crowd will rival a Mavs Maniaac, even without paint!
What made the evening even more perfect was discovering the incredible charity work of the Star team members. While Alex Goligoski serves as a Defenseman for the Dallas Stars, he believes the real appreciation for defense belongs to our military men and women who defend our freedom. He donates tickets to every Dallas Stars game to military members and their families. With 76 games each season, Alex Goligorski is saying, “thank you” in a big way! Thank you, Alex for providing over 300 tickets per year to our military heroes. Goligorski is the Stars contributor to the charity Defending the Blue Line.
