- Food Truck Frenzy brings Dallas’ most popular food trucks to the Esplanade at Fair Park. Have lunch at Fair Park on May 23. Featured trucks include: Butchers Son, Ssahm BBQ, Mad Grill, Mr. Snowie, Texas Burrito Co., Rockn’ Rick’s and My Cupcake Garden. Then event will also feature live music and is 100% FREE, Free admission. Free parking. Enter gates 3 or 4 to park. Or take DART Green Line to Fair Park.
- LOL Comedy Show at House of Blues: Starting at 9pm this show will feature some of DFW’s biggest rising stars in comedy such as Jason James, Chris Mack and Aaron Aryanpur alongside headliner Paul Varghese who was voted Dallas Observers’ Funniest Comedian in Dallas and has been featured on NBC’s Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central.

- Later That night the Sultry Ladies of the Ruby Revue Burlesque troupe will also be performing at the House of Blues in Dallas. You can catch them at 9:30 and 11:00pm
- Live Music:FREE Country music and Gas Monkey Bar and Grill. CMT’s artist to watch Sundy Best will be performing lifeve at the Gas monkey bar and grill this Friday. The band soulful Kentucky sound will eb the perfect backfrop for a night of bear drinking and boot shaking. According to the Gas Monkey : “Sundy Best began as a high energy Lexington, Kentucky bar act. As kids coming up together in Eastern Kentucky, they played music in church and formed their own band in high school.Everything we’ve written is a true story,” adds Nick. “We are who we say we are. Polka Festival in Ennis
Celebrate 48 wonderful years of Czech heritage festivities Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, 2014, with polka dancing, Czech foods, and 14 sensational live polka bands, including Grammy Award winning Brave Combo.The festival kicks off with an opening dance Friday at 7 pm, featuring polka music and the King and Queen Dance Contest, where participants and non-participants are encouraged to wear traditional Czech kroj (costumes).The parade gets started at 10 am on Saturday morning with floats, bands, horses, clowns and colorful costumes. Other attractions include a downtown street dance on Saturday, arts and crafts, kids activities and a kolache-eating contest at 1 p.m. Saturday.
If Movies are more your thing the classics at Klyde Warren event will be happening this and every Saturday in May this Saturday the park will welcome the 1954 classic ‘on The Waterfront” starring silver screen legend Marlon Brando.

- Thai Culture and Food Festival: The North Texas Thai community has come together to organize the 1st Thai Culture & Food Festival. This free event is family friendly and will feature special guest Honorable Vijavat Isarabhakdi, US Ambassador of Thailand, on May 24-25, 2014 at The Buddhist Center of Dallas. The Event will begin at 11 am on Saturday, May 24th with a grand parade around the temple grounds, ending with a ribbon cutting on stage for the opening ceremony. The US Ambassador of Thailand, Honorary Consul General of Thailand W. Forrest Smith, city officials and community leaders will participate in the opening ceremony
- National Tap Dance Day Block Party
Did You know Sunday is national Tap Dance Day? Did you know that was a thing? Neither did I but I’m glad I do now! Ft. Worth will host this party on Sunday starting at 7pm . Arts Fifth Avenue in Fort Worth for the annual block party, with special guest Tommy Tune. . Sunday on the outdoor stage at Arts Fifth Avenue, 1628. Ave., Fort Worth.
